The 7 Habits of a Highly Effective People

by Stephen R Covey © 1989

I wish I had read this book in my twenties as it is full of insight and wisdom on how to live an authentic life with integrity. First published in 1989, this book has been a must read for individuals and leaders the world over and its’ message remains as powerful and relevant today as when it was first written.

Stephen Covey promotes avoiding the blame game so popular in our culture by taking responsibility for whom we are and what we do in our lives. He argues for building an ethos around character and not personality. He does not shy away from his context as a Christian but the principles he espouses transcend all faiths and belief systems. Millions of people have made their way through the 7 steps and been inspired to create change in their lives. I cannot think of anyone who would not benefit from reading this book.
